He started by changing himself from a sickly child to a strong body builder, self-defence instructor, gymnast and boxer. He worked during WW1 to rehabilitate the sick and injured, later opening a studio in New York to which dancers and actors flocked.
Pilates aims to improve bodies by creating balance between strength and flexibility/mobility, improve posture, agility, core strength, body shape and tone, breathing, coordination and body awareness. Josie Ledbetter is a Clinical Pilates Instructor, blending uniquely, the skills of an experienced clinical physiotherapist with a specialist knowledge of the Pilates method. This equips her with a very unique and expert ability to help patients interested in adopting Pilates methods into their exercise regimes and lifestyle.
